Ru-Type ‘Paper-Mallet’ Vase, Song Style

A refined celadon vessel inspired by the Song dynasty paper-mallet form.

CONTEMPORARY · HISTORICAL
JINGDEZHEN · CHINA

A refined ‘Zhichui Ping’ (paper-mallet vase) distinguished by its slender profile and gently rounded contours, inspired by the elegant forms of Song dynasty studio ceramics. Its luminous sky-blue celadon glaze evokes the serene, jade-like quality of Ru wares, while traditional full-glaze firing with spur supports leaves the base fully glazed with minimal spur marks. The thin, refined body enhances the vessel’s delicate appearance and understated elegance.

In excellent condition.
