The Collection

The Collection

Two bodies of work. One cultural standard. Each work, a continuation.

I · Two Bodies of Work
One cultural standard

Two bodies of work, one cultural standard.

The Collection consists of two closely related bodies of work — assembled not for decoration alone, but for preservation, reflection, and the continuation of cultural memory.

i. Historical

Historical porcelain.

From the founder's private collection.

Works gathered over many years of careful study, observation, and selection — references and material standards against which everything else is measured.

ii. Contemporary

Contemporary decorative porcelain.

Created in Jingdezhen, under senior cultural guidance.

Small-scale, high-level production — developed within historically grounded aesthetic frameworks, executed by professional teams with deep technical experience.

They exist on different sides of time,
but within the same discipline.
II · Historical Works
References · Material standards · Cultural anchors

Historical works.

These objects have been collected over many years through careful study, observation, and selection. They are not acquired for resale — but as references, material standards, and cultural anchors for contemporary practice. From time to time, however, select works may be released to new collectors. Such placements are approached with care and intention — through direct conversation, not catalogue.

They are not acquired for resale. Select works may, from time to time, be placed with new collectors.

i. As references

References.

Each object kept for what it teaches — proportion, palette, the resolution of an ornamental scheme, the discipline of a particular workshop.

ii. As standards

Material standards.

The historical body, the glaze, the hand of the painter — the standards against which every contemporary commission is measured.

iii. As anchors

Cultural anchors.

Works that locate the practice within a tradition — that keep the contemporary work tethered to the long arc of porcelain culture.

Positioned alongside historical works, these pieces extend the lineage of porcelain into the present.

IV · Contemporary Decorative Porcelain
Made in Jingdezhen · Made to order

Contemporary decorative porcelain.

These works are not reproductions. They are contemporary works shaped by historical intelligence — made to order by master artisans in Jingdezhen, a city with over a thousand years of porcelain heritage.

Each piece is made to order by master artisans working in local Jingdezhen workshops. From forming and firing to finishing and decoration, every stage follows a disciplined process that reflects both technical precision and cultural continuity. They exist within the continuity of porcelain culture, not outside it.

i. Aesthetic

Frameworks.

Developed within historically grounded aesthetic frameworks — never invented in isolation, never improvised in haste.

ii. Production

Professional teams.

Executed by professional teams with deep technical experience, working in the city that has carried porcelain for over a thousand years.

iii. Guidance

Senior expertise.

Guided by senior experts in classical ceramic traditions — the discipline applied to each piece, before it leaves the kiln.

V · Curatorial Position
A system, not an inventory

A curatorial position.

The Collection is developed as a curatorial system — selected for proportion, material intelligence, and discipline refined across centuries.

Each object is chosen for its ability to represent standards of proportion, material intelligence, and cultural discipline refined across centuries. The Collection is not an inventory; it is a system of judgement. These works function as references — not only for study, but for judgement. They inform Wismoria's contemporary practice and provide a living foundation for its continuation.

VI · Selected Works
From the Collection · Available by inquiry

Selected works.

Selected historical and contemporary works from the Collection. Each piece is presented with its archival record, its status, and a refined invitation to inquire.

VII · Production & Fulfillment
Made to order · Shipped from Jingdezhen

Production & fulfillment.

Each piece is brought into being through a process that cannot be rushed.

Contemporary works are produced on a made-to-order basis and shipped directly from Jingdezhen upon completion. Given the nature of this process, production and delivery timelines may vary. We ask for your patience, as each piece is carefully brought into being through a process that cannot be rushed — and could not be, without losing what it means.

VIII · Acquisition
Not a retail platform · Each work placed in conversation

Acquisition.

Works in the Collection may be available for acquisition. Availability is selective, and evolves over time. Wismoria does not operate as a conventional retail platform. Each work is placed through direct conversation — ensuring thoughtful stewardship and the continuity of cultural context. There is no checkout. There is no cart. There is only a dialogue, in which a work and its next custodian are considered together.
