Famille-Rose ‘Peach and Bat’ Vase, Yongzheng Style
An ovoid vase finely painted in famille-rose enamels with ripe peaches on leafy branches accompanied by fluttering bats.

The vase is potted in an elegant ovoid (olive-shaped) form, rising from a neatly finished foot to a gently tapering neck, with well-balanced and graceful proportions. The body is covered with a smooth, luminous glaze, providing an ideal ground for the finely executed famille-rose decoration.
The exterior is delicately painted with ripe peaches borne on leafy branches, accompanied by fluttering bats, all rendered in soft, carefully shaded enamels. The famille-rose palette is applied with exceptional finesse, achieving subtle tonal gradation and a refined, painterly effect characteristic of Yongzheng-style wares.
Rich in auspicious symbolism, the motif combines peaches—emblems of longevity—with bats (fu), a visual pun for blessings and good fortune. Together, they convey the wish for “longevity and the Five Blessings” (fu shou shuang quan), making the piece both visually elegant and culturally resonant.
Please note: Dimensions are based on the present example. As each piece is individually fired, slight variations are inherent to the making process.
